AFOI issues all visitors a Visitor Identification Card. This is required to ride with us.
The first card issued is free with program intake; replacement cards cost $5.00.
transportation services include:
*comfortable, charter bus with restrooms or passenger vans
*refreshments while traveling
*free meal upon return to richmond
AFOI has a designated number of visitor seats per facility. Visitors must make a reservation. Reservations can be made beginning one month ahead of the scheduled Saturday.
Reservations must be made by Wednesday, 12:00 PM/noon the week of the scheduled Saturday. Visitors who make a reservation, and discover that they can no longer travel with us, must cancel their reservation by Wednesday, 12:00 PM/noon the week of the scheduled Saturday.
Visits will take place in March, June, September and December of 2024. The first Saturday of those months, we will transport to the western region. The second Saturday of those months, we will transport to the central region. The third Saturday, of those months, we will transport to the eastern region.

VISITORS MUST
… be approved by VADOC for face-to-face visitation.
… be registered with AFOI. (if you are not registered, schedule an intake with us)
… have a ViaPath account.
… follow AFOI guidelines for transportation program participation.
… follow VADOC visitation policies as outlined in VADOC OP 851.1; adhering to all visitation rules and regulations to include appropriate dress and attire.
… bring photo ID and AFOI Visitor ID card on the day of the visit.
The maximum number of visitors per incarcerated individual is three; this total includes adults and children. All visitors must be an approved visitor by the VADOC Central Visitation Unit to participate in these visits. All visitors will ensure this status and will also ensure that they are on the incarcerated individual’s visitor list.

All trips depart from, and return to, Second Presbyterian Church, 5 North Fifth Street, Richmond, Virginia 23219. Look for the sign next to the doors facing Main Street on the corner. Enter through these doors.
