video visitation

VIDEO VISIT FROm THE COMFORT OF YOUR HOME!

AFOI has partnered with GTL and VA-DOC to provide connectivity to state prisons across Virginia to both AFOI Visitor Centers and using at-home technology (desktop or laptop computer, or Android smartphone or tablet). Enhanced Video Visitation is now available seven days a week using at-home technology.

WHAT ARE THE GUIDELINES?

  • The visitor is responsible for registering with an account and scheduling the video visits.

  • Both visitors and offenders are required to follow the same rules that apply to contact visits. Failure to do so may result in termination of visit and loss of visitation privileges.

  • All visits are subject to monitoring and recording.

  • Visitor restrictions may apply to participate.

How do I register FOR AND SCHEDULE ENHANCED VIDEO VISITATION?

Enhanced video visitation is supported on home computers (desktops or laptops, Windows or Mac), some tablets (those running on Android or other operating systems, but not Apple’s iOS), and Android smartphones.

If using an Android smartphone or tablet, you can download these two apps from the Google Play store - GTL - Schedule Visits (1 of 2) and GTL - Internet Visits (2 of 2). You must download both apps in order to use enhanced video visitation on these devices.

To register and schedule visits from all other devices, visit https://vadoc.gtlvisitme.com/app

How much does it cost?

  • $10 – 25 minute visit

  • $22 – 55 minute visit

The fees collected go directly to support the cost of operating the program – the Virginia Department of Corrections receives none of the fees collected.
